Year 1 & 2 Coding Club
In this Junior coding club students embark on an exciting journey to discover the fundamentals of programming through interactive Scratch projects. They dive into key concepts such as algorithms, sequences, and loops in a fun and accessible way, building a strong foundation for future coding adventures.
This club is perfect for both new coders and students with past experience.Through hands-on projects, students unleash their creativity to design their own unique stories and games, bringing their ideas to life. Join us for a thrilling coding adventure where young minds gain confidence, spark their imagination, and become skilled creators in the vibrant world of programming!
Year 5 & 6 Coding Club
In this coding club students will hone their programming skills on the dynamic p5.js platform using JavaScript. Working closely with their instructors, students embark on an engaging journey of creating images, animations, and interactive games. Each project builds on the skills learned in previous sessions, helping students develop independence and confidence in coding.
By the end of the term, students will be able to create captivating illustrations and explore the exciting world of interactive programs. This immersive experience challenges students while nurturing creativity, problem-solving, and a deeper understanding of programming.
Year 3 & 4 Coding Club
In this exciting club, students, both new and returning, use the MakeCode platform to design and build their own arcade-style video games while developing essential coding skills such as variables, coordinates, controls, and game logic. Through fun, hands-on projects, students learn how to animate characters, design levels, and program interactions as they progress from simple starter games to creating their own jumper and platformer games by the end of the term.
Sessions take place in a safe and supportive environment that encourages creativity, problem-solving and confidence with technology. This club is perfect for students who love games and want to learn how to create their own.
